Worth noting that this is believed to likely be an ISIS-K attack, a group that is an enemy of both the US and the Taliban.
- eschulz 5y agoIf that's the case then it would seem like this attack would be especially beneficial to the Taliban. It would put enhanced pressure on the US to withdraw while also allowing the Taliban to show Afghans a domestic enemy from whom they need the Taliban to provide security.
