  You kid but there was a story some years back about some authoritarian dragnet in Austrailia being used to facilitate prosecution of pork products distributors who committed some mundane crime regarding weights and measures. I can't find the link but I'm 99% sure it was posted on HN.

        Compared to breaking the speed limit it isn't. Most people don't steal. I am guessing most drivers speed at least occasionally.
