We need to remove gigatons of carbon from the atmosphere, and we don't have anywhere to put that much stuff. It's a bit of a pipe dream.
The only real path to avoiding the worst effects of climate change is stopping emissions.
- FooHentai 5y agoWe certainly need to do both - Simply stopping all carbon emissions tomorrow still locks us into historical carbon emissions that will have unpleasant effects on the global climate. Sucking carbon out of the air while also pumping it up there doesn't make too much sense unless the cost of carbon capture drops well below the cost of de-carbonizing.
