This really is crazily scary. And not only did the company somehow force through a drug that seems to have no proven benefits but severe proven side effects, they also created a campaign that recommends that literally everyone should start treatment with it and price it absolutely astronomically.
I imagine people started quitting because they know this won’t just end up with financial repercussions but will see people “in the know” going to jail.
That said, it doesn’t feel like it’s the hypothesis that is “to big to fail” it feels more like a sunk cost situation where the company while still cash heavy has hit a wall with their drug and might never get anything functional no matter how much cash they throw at R&D, so instead they are somehow using their cash to convert individual opinions at the FDA to push through an approval.
How throw has not already let to central individuals getting fired and being under investigation is beyond me.
