God I hate hearing this. I once worked at a company where it wasn't allowed for 2 programmers to be at 1 computer ever. Programmers were never allowed to go to another programmers desk to work on something together or discuss something. Because it was "wasted time". It was also one of those companies that pulled the entire programming team into hour long meetings they didn't need to be in... Maybe its just me, but a 5-10 minute conversation with another programmer can save hours of wasted time trying to figure out how something already works or how to implement something.
