In Ireland (not the UK, but very close by) somewhere in excess of 90% of primary schools (i.e. 5-12 age group) are run or are controlled by the Catholic Church, and requiring a baptism certificate to go to most schools. This has led to people like me being baptized just so I could get an education. Once you are baptized, you can't become unbaptized, you are always officially part of the church.
Point being, you hear Christian leaders in Western Europe talking about the evils of forcing people to sign up to something, and creating two-tier societies, you are bearing witness to a quantity of hypocrisy that borders on self-parody.
"This scheme has the potential to bring about the end of liberal democracy as we know it and to create a surveillance state in which the government uses technology to control certain aspects of citizens’ lives"
This, again from a special interest group which wants to force their views on sexuality, abortion, science, etc. upon everyone whether they are Christian or not.
