Note: this article also includes a helpful summary of the major infosec incidents this year. This meeting is presumably motivated by those incidents and the recent memorandum that described the US information security posture as “woefully insufficient” (https://www.theregister.com/2021/07/29/biden_memo_on_critical_infrastructure_control_systems_security/ https://www.theregister.com/2021/07/29/biden_memo_on_critica...). Personally I wonder if the main thing missing is legal and financial liability for infosec incidents, to motivate industries and public agencies into action.
