Author of the article here. I would love to run an unbiased analysis on that, but it would tricky to list and identify all of the companies that flopped.
I guess you could grab a list of every successful and defunct company listed on Crunchbase/AngelList/etc, but there would still be bias, as flopped companies may never have got to the point of creating a profile there, or they scrubbed the profile later.
- reducesuffering 5y agoI'd stick to public companies and run sentiment analysis on all tickers and company mentions. Then identify the correlation between positive sentiment and historical market return. I'm sure there are at least a few funds incorporating this data into some portion of a portfolio.
