This should give you pause. Why do you think something that sounds 1984ish should be acceptable to anyone? Why is it acceptable to you? The fact that other companies also have advanced surveillance power should be reason to push back on that as well, not to cede more ground to surveillance. I guess your logic doesn't make any kind of sense to me.
