- samstave 5y agoSo in the "vandalism" scenario with "lots of cameras" -- this translates to easily making every single autonomous/'connected' vehicle into a roving surveillance engine - wait until the first subpoenas come in for camera data from "all teslas in this area at this time who saw a man in a red hoodie running down 5th avenue" --- Autonomous/connected vehicles will be used in this way in the next decade I am sure.
- tsjq 5y agogoing by Amazon cameras approach, no subpeona required. "we will partner with the police". all cameras will (pro)actively feed videos and data (number plate + location details, speed, etc details) to police computers. more parking tickets, more speeding tickets, more traffic violation tickets, more jaywalking tickets. More revenue to the cops. we will get a cut from that revenue stream for the "partnership in fighting crime". it is a win-win strategy. multidimensional synergistic relationship among cops, AI, tech, cars, cameras. we will find the right terms to make this palatable to "those screeching minorities"
