Cui bono? The state of Oklahoma could have easily offered these men the option of doing volunteer work for a non-profit of their choosing while they attended periodic counseling. Instead they chose a system with forced labor camps where prisoners are sold off to local businesses. We can build a system to enrich the life of the incarcerated or we can enrich the capitalists. Time after time our local governments choose the latter path - does anyone know why?
