- selfhoster11 5y agoDelegation of responsibilities. If you are running a website that is sure to set the world on fire, there should be a succession plan in case you're stuck in prison.
- vntok 5y agoThat should be the bare minimum indeed, but then of course the narcissism would come into play and ruin it.
- mandmandam 5y agoThere are many extraordinarily dickish aspects of the narcissism smear. For one, he deserves praise and a bit of ego, for outstanding service to humanity. Many times over. And he doesn't even actually blow his own horn about it that much - TO be fair, it's hard to, when in prison for revealing embarrassing war crimes. Two, they _really were_ out to get to him, and we know that for a fact. Three - many of the journalists who repeated this smear did so after their media orgs profited from his disclosures; ie, NYT, The Guardian. Four - since Assange is on the ASD spectrum, lay people might actually believe the smear, confusing awkwardness for aloofness. Here's a handy guide to telling the difference between narcissism and ASD - https://www.goodtherapy.org/blog/narcissism-vs-aspergers-how-can-i-tell-the-difference-1114174 https://www.goodtherapy.org/blog/narcissism-vs-aspergers-how... . Reading that, it's abundantly clear why such a calculated smear was employed.
- coretx 5y agoThe website extinguished tons of fires and succession/contingency plans are a success despite various sabotage attempts and people threating people with silenced guns in Brussels parking garages. The genie is out of the bottle and the lies that have started wars are now being dismantled for peace.
