All the Biomass of Earth, in One Graphic
- greenyoda 5y agoWhere are the reptiles and amphibians?
- philipswood 5y agoThis is a redrawing of a previous graphic by Vox [1] which references a paper [2] that its numbers are based on. The paper states: >"Absolute biomass of different animal taxa. Related groups such as vertebrates are located next to each other. We estimate that the contribution of reptiles and amphibians to the total animal biomass is negligible, as we discuss in the SI Appendix." (The description references their graph, not the subsequent redrawings) [1]: https://www.vox.com/science-and-health/2018/5/29/17386112/all-life-on-earth-chart-weight-plants-animals-pnas https://www.vox.com/science-and-health/2018/5/29/17386112/al...
