You don’t HAVE to commit code to a git repo they control.
The socio-political reality isn’t like 100 years ago.
As soon as Wall Street is seriously threatened by a worker related revolt, laws change.
Keep the laptop shut and DON’T “job from home” (work is not the same as a social job).
But come now, let’s all coalesce around a VC incubators forum instead.

Working for those entities gets you paid and (at least theoretically) raises your quality of life if you don't have a lot of money. Fighting the man gets you a life of hardship and pain. For some people it is worth it but for most its not. Most people care more about their own well being than that of others; I don't think that is news or even a particularly offensive statement.
