Same here -- a 2019 Ford Explorer LE that I drove across the country. I recently learned that its lane assist and following distance cruise control is effectively the same as Tesla's 'Self Driving.' Honestly, it's not just disingenuous to call Teslas self-driving, it's irresponsible and dangerous given my experience with similar systems.
Don't get me wrong -- it's great!! The emergency collision braking system saved me from a major car crash with a drunk driver in Vegas. But the fact that there are people fully relying on it to be futuristic, fully-featured autonomous driving _is going to kill people._ Hell, if I had turned on assist in some of the mountain roads I drove on, I might have wound up dead myself -- and drivers must be educated about this.
