Ask HN: How do you consume stuff on HN while still being productive?
Theres so much interesting stuff: links and comments posted on HN. What strategies do you use to read them and process them effectively?
- bitxbitxbitcoin 5y agoClassic HN strat: read the comments to determine if the link is worth opening.
- SevenSigs 5y agoBonus if you only read the top comments for the top posts... and also skip extra long comments that are off topic.
- sysadm1n 5y agoI don't habitually scan HN for interesting content, because doing that opens up rabbitholes, and that's a huge time and attention sink if you need to get other things done. I mostly use HN to keep up with my industry, since it moves so fast. What upcoming services and tools can I now leverage today? Also: what services/projects have gone bust and died because they couldn't sustain themselves?
- philipswood 5y agoI only read HN on mobile. Stuff that seems worth checking out is started or the link-shared for investigation when online.
