Evolution now accepted by majority of Americans: study
- ggm 5y agoI'd love international comparisons. I believe it's north of 95%+ in most developed economies worldwide. The USA is more like Iran and other theocracies in the extent to which it allows religion to dictate to education and the state. Considering the constitutional bars on church-state it's bizarre how much it leaks out. Abortion rights probably track too. FWIW

- ggm 5y agoNo. It's 70-80%. So, I overstated it, but the gap against theocratic America remains stark, no? (I'm distressed by how low the figures are BTW. Shameful)
- lhorie 5y agoIf you're wondering what percentage "majority" refers to: > over the last decade, until 2019, the percentage of American adults who agreed with this statement increased from 40% to 54% If you're curious how that stacks up against other countries, see this[0]. Honestly I'm surprised, I was expecting numbers to be higher.
