I will throw out a personal un-favorite. When talking about the fear of violence from the mentally ill, someone will say -- almost as if the string were pulled on a talking doll -- "the mentally ill are more likely to be subject to violence than to ..." and away we go. It may be true, but it does not actually address the question. The question is, are they more violent than those who are not mentally ill?
