I wish we would stop allowing companies to collect this information in the first place. It should be obvious by now that they are incapable of protecting it, and it's none of their business anyway.
- salawat 5y agoSocial Security Act forbade government agencies even using SSN's as a National ID number as I recall. Pity that in the U.S., business does not feel bound by the same normative structures we place on Government. Heck, the government hasn't even done great at following that.
