Sometimes it is just a bad battery
- chrisbennet 5y agoI can't believe Apple blew her off like that.
- voakbasda 5y agoThis is how Apple handles repairs. They do not have trained technicians who know how to repair their equipment, as once was the case in the long ago. At best, their monkeys can swap out whole parts, but they seem to be trained primarily to sling their shitty merchandise. Because that’s what’s profitable, and no one is forcing them to Do The Right Thing. I was given the same option (“buy a new phone”) when my iPhone 7 microphone died. There are zero legitimate reasons why that should have been necessary, so I have been using a Bluetooth headset for the past couple years instead. Since then, I have been hoping to be able to replace it with a PinePhone when it finally dies. I want right to repair laws to be enacted, but I am not optimistic that we will ever get them. It seems far more likely that our rampant fascist corporatism will play lip service (at best) to the public’s demand, while simultaneously further entrenching the status quo for the corporations that line their pockets. You know, just like everything else that happens in government.
