Two things.
First, I'm pretty sure they don't owe you anything. You sound a bit demanding with "I would like a simple Yes or No."
Secondly, watch Brian's startup school presentation [1]. The main takeaway is "manipulate and control the media at all costs." He talks about re-aligning your press coverage according to business needs. He talks about how to manipulate bloggers. Controlling their image is what they do. It's worked out very well for them so far, but when you are faced with a viral shitstorm, heavy-handed approaches quickly break down.
Draw your own conclusions.

You sound a bit demanding with "I would like a simple Yes or No." Oh no! Anything but asking for a straightforward answer. Trying to remove weasel room upfront is a horrible practice! Don't our precious startups deserve more room to act like pieces of shit?
