Almost certainly for some form of legal compliance. It looks like Google is doing the bare minimum.
- g_p 5y agoGDPR in Europe makes a number of provisions for under-18s, including data removal I believe. This is likely an attempt to get ahead of enforcement of those rules by privacy groups.
