Show HN: CloudLAN – Work from anywhere with your team and data securely
- s1simple 5y agoHi All, I am the founder of Simply5 CloudLAN. We are very thrilled to show our product here. The idea for CloudLAN came from challenges we faced while evolving to a Remote-First company. We were trying to replicate all the networking flexibilities we enjoyed while working out of our office, but without being tied down to a physical location. CloudLAN helps Businesses & remote teams access their organization resources and servers more securely while working over the Public internet from Anywhere. It offers Easy user & device onboarding, TeamVPN, Dedicated Static IP, and more. Beyond that CloudLAN has some cool add-on features like - Service Casting using TeamURL & PublicURL - 2-step onboarding of any Windows, Ubuntu, CentOS & Rpi server using Host feature - Bookmarks - Recording & share resources available for users in a designated place. All these features are easily manageable over the client app, skipping the need for a technical web admin panel. We have native apps for Windows and Mac. Users can use any generic OpenVPN client supported by their OS once invited to CloudLAN room. ### CloudLAN Works For - Remote teams - DevOps - Software Vendors - IT Admins - Digital Agencies - Small & Medium Business Owners Hope CloudLAN helps to boost your productivity with an additional layer of security. Would love to hear your thoughts!
- bradknowles 5y agoAnd so how does this compare to ZeroTier? Or tailscale? How do you differentiate yourselves from a plain VPN that everyone gets assigned to?

- s1simple 5y agoZeroTier & Tailscale are based on WireGuard protocol but end resultant will be the same with hopefully better latency if clients are able to establish P2P. We are tracking the developments & can support WireGuard if there prevails. Dint particularly like the /16 IP assignment between all the clients & just ACL based clients bifurcation. In OpenVPN each client gets a dedicated server & full view of users/Devices connected to their network through the app which is less Voodoo & easier to explain to clients.
- s1simple 5y agoCloudLAN is focusing on SME segment who may not have a technical expertise & look for straight forward solutions. We are replicating a LAN network that businesses are used to but as app based interface which includes features like Static IP, Port Forwarding, easy Device/User onboarding without any dependencies, intercommunication between devices etc...
