I think it’s incorrect to view Jay as an exclusively crypto/blockchain person — or at least not in the way that many in HN think of that space. They’ve also been a familiar participant in the wider P2P, privacy and civil liberties space; I’ve bumped into them in the secure scuttlebutt, ActivityPub and IPFS worlds too. It’s a good choice of leader for Bluesky.
