So true.
I lived through most of the Vietnam War (live on the 6 o'clock news) and the fall. The lessons have been obvious to anyone who CHOOSES to pay attention. But the lessons aren't ones that politicians drunk with power and venom want to hear.
- euroderf 5y agoA friend of a friend served in the Soviet Army in Afghanistan. It left him deeply traumatized, and he would not talk about his experiences. Likewise a former boss who was with the airborne in Vietnam. He too would not talk about his experiences. But that lucky duck Dick Cheney, he had "other priorities".
- mark_l_watson 5y agoI remember the Vietnam War also. A temporary room mate in college had just got back from Vietnam, and the things he witnessed really left him traumatized.
