Or are a young adult who is saving for a house.
- dragonwriter 5y agoIf you have long-term savings and they are predominantly in dollar-denominated fixed-interest accounts, you are doing investing for the future wrong.
- deadbolt 5y agoWell, I also have a 401k and an Roth IRA, but I have a large amount of money in dollar-denominated fixed-interest accounts because it's money I'm planning on using within the next few years. Is there something else I should be doing? I don't consider <5 years to be long-term savings. Am I incorrect?
- ac29 5y agoIf you're saving to buy a house in 10 years, putting the money in a savings account (or similar) is almost certainly a bad idea. If you're saving to buy a house in 6 months, almost anything else would be a bad idea.
