- tuatoru 5y agoI hope people resist "othering" the problem when discussing this. The distribution of carbon emissions vs income follows a power law. Globally, the top 10 percent of families by income produce the bulk of carbon emissions. That is us.
- ipspam 5y agoEasy solution. Stop upward mobility. Stop immigration. Keep people from earning coins. No money = very little carbon activity. Lots of money = lots of carbon activity.
- schwartzworld 5y agoThe biggest polluter in the world is the us military. A handful of corporations are responsible for the lions share of the rest. Blaming individuals for existing in too high of numbers is a deliberate strategy to avoid fixing the real problem.
- simonblack 5y ago"Earth Needs Fewer People" FTFY A 'One child per woman' policy would fix that problem in one or two, possibly 3, generations to get the population down to levels which are indefinitely sustainable. That would allow ground water to replenish, fish numbers to recover, and CO2 levels to start dropping.
