Good post from somebody with an overflowing teacup. Haskell's not magic or special; it's Just Another Programming Language, really. Reading their monad tutorial (https://gist.github.com/cscalfani/b63552922a8deb2656ecd5ec8a1a77a8 https://gist.github.com/cscalfani/b63552922a8deb2656ecd5ec8a...) it doesn't sound like they actually understand monads; they don't know about algebraic laws or the join operation.
