Nice analogy. This is why I stick to HTML/CSS/JS. I've been doing pretty much the same thing since 1997. I've never built a phone app or used a JS framework (other than may own). Unfortunately it means I'm largely unemployable because I'm not current on all the latest tech - I'm current on 20 year old tech. Nevertheless, I'm actually quite happy about that. I really love what I do and don't feel stressed about development. I know I've missed out on all the new flashy tech but as the years go by, that seems like a good thing. I'm just 'making occasional improvements to my home every few years'. It seems like HTML/CSS/JS was a good investment. Nice article. Thanks.
