Keyboard Walk Processor (2018)
- krisoft 5y agoThat readme is quite something. I will try to summarize my understanding of it: Some people select their password by tracing a pattern on their keyboard. This software generates strings which can be generated by such patterns in a higly comfigurable manner. (It does this presumably to help cracking password hashes.) Have I got the gist of it right?
- spicybright 5y agoDecent article, although I really could have just skipped to the "Configuration" section and started reading there. One thing is I'm sad this doesn't accounting for actual physical keyboards instead of letters on a square grid. D to R is much closer than D to W, for example (on a standard qwerty keyboard, typical row slant).
- rozab 5y agoAll of these walks move one key at a time, as if typing with one finger. When I've had to use such passwords in the past I've always done patterns like "yuihjknm,"(descending triplets), which require very little energy to type.
