I wonder if there wouldn't be value in making the process of liking and sharing to something more onerous so it's not just one click away but requires work, at least for any negative sentiment to be re-shared. Everyone would then have to put that small effort in balance with the actual amount of interest/outrage they feel. I bet most re-shares and likes would not happen if they required any sort of effort. If the outrage is not enough to deserve actual effort to make it heard, then the outrage is probably not worth being heard.
