I get most of these (even if I don't agree with it). Porn and drugs, I think it's counter productive to ban such literature, but sure. Hobby manufacturing and gang descriptions I get. Heteropatriarchy and the 3 Pillars of White Supremacy? Like, banning that is just proving to the potential readers that what it says has validity.

Most of these look like reasonable things to ban in a prison. Is there something specific that makes this a notable document to share?

This looked weird to me too at first; this would appear to be a list of things that were confiscated, rather than a[n extraordinarily short] list of things that were banned. It's sad that American Gods is on there, although I sort of almost see why.

Can't tell with Popular Science or Mechanics, but the Rolling Stone cover story was about a Nazi terror cell (presumably Atomwaffen? Not sure because I don't have a copy). Pop Sci W2018 was "78 ways to die" - https://reader.magzter.com/preview/jfaq2t3uhas38jmmxblff3095110/309511 https://reader.magzter.com/preview/jfaq2t3uhas38jmmxblff3095... Nothing immediately pops out from the Popular Mechanics June 2018 cover. The Nov 2019 might be because of the "Turn Rice Krispies into Beer" article? - https://www.magzter.com/US/Hearst-magazines/Popular-Mechanics/Science/376681 https://www.magzter.com/US/Hearst-magazines/Popular-Mechanic... That Rolling Stone issue might be because of the "The Nazis Next Door" article. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rolling-Stone-Magazine-Issue-1313-1314-May-17-30-2018-Janelle-Monae-Avicii-/173411529793?_ul=IN https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rolling-Stone-Magazine-Issue-1313-1...

Why ban American Gods?

Very interesting, thanks. For reference, these seem to be the standards: New Jersey Administrative Code ... §10A:18-4.9 - Disapproved content in publications https://regulations.justia.com/states/new-jersey/title-10a/chapter-18/subchapter-4/10a-18-4-9/ https://regulations.justia.com/states/new-jersey/title-10a/c...
