Hiring, they are on a hiring tear.
- Clewza313 5y agoBut that's precisely the question: why are they hiring?
- koolba 5y agoSo they can raise more VC. Seriously, what part of this don’t you understand?
- ultimoo 5y agoindeed the virtuous cycle of our times
- umvi 5y agoSort of reminds me of this girl I see on Facebook. She is an "entrepreneur". Her business? Helping other people start their own businesses! Yes, but what kind of business is she helping them start? Same as her own business - paid training sessions on how to start a business!
- soluproj 5y agoHow to start a business starting businesses that start businesses, you say?
- dlandis 5y agoYeah, I know someone who did the exact same thing. I guess it's similar to a pyramid scheme in that the more people you "coach" or "mentor", the bigger your personal brand will get and the more opportunities you will get.
- sb057 5y agoSounds like a rather cannibalistic model if you ask me.
- Seattle3503 5y agoBecause VC loves giving money to companies with no real plan.
- gogopuppygogo 5y agoTo lose money gaining market share so they can eventually sell ads to those eyeballs. I still use old Reddit. If they get rid of old Reddit I’ll never go back. I wish Kevin Rose had managed to keep Digg a competitor.
- RosanaAnaDana 5y agoI think this is hilarious because reddit is so obviously dead on the vine to me. I can't wait for reddit to give me even the remotest reason to delete my account. ngl, been pretty close to deleted it since they hid the nsfw, was practically the only thing of value the site had left.
- Seattle3503 5y agoIt is already bit rotting. There are some pages that return 500 errors on the old site but work in mobile.
- Uhhrrr 5y agoOne would hope for them that it's so they can fix ads to monetize adequately.
- tech_tuna 5y agoI interviewed there. . . they are looking to monetize reddit more/better i.e. actually make some cash. I am the hugest fan of reddit. . . it will be interesting to see if they can increase revenue without impacting the user experience negatively.
- generalpf 5y agoI was contacted by a recruiter from Reddit for a mobile position. They said they were doubling their engineering staff in 2021.
