People are looking at this the wrong way. If this is where we are headed, its better to have a government vaccine mandate, and let the government take responsibility for the political fallout, and for enforcement. It's both a cop out to pass it on to businesses, and it creates a ridiculous amount of inequality. To be clear, it's not just right wing people you dont like that are affected, many minority groups also lag in vaccination for various reasons. With a government mandate and presumed vaccination, the government has to bear the brunt of this, we don't suffer the continued privacy invasion, and businesses are not stuck in some absurd enforcement role. Perversely, I imagine government mandates would be less popular with everyone, because of the imposition on freedom on one side and that it doesn't create the very publicly two-tier system the zealots on the other side want
