Actually one of my first experience I can remember on the internet was something called “the 3D village” circa 1998.
A proto second life, inhabited by French and québécois teenagers.
- sen 5y agoYeah I remember playing with VRML in ~1996-97 and developing a bunch of "virtual worlds" (tiny by todays standard) for companies then. It never got huge traction but it was definitely around, and there were some really fun 3D virtual chat worlds around at the time.
