I will often take a second or two before I answer anyone, but when I do (and if I am excited) I talk too fast.
- p0d 5y agoGood point. Fast thinking and fast talking are two different things. I believe fast talkers need to work on their listening skills. Not just be busting to say their next thing. I also see a compulsion or need in some people to walk through their thought process. This can be a problem when listeners got the jist several sentences back. The speaker satisfies a need while the listeners are bored.
- kazinator 5y agoThere are fast thinking fast talkers, and those people can be interesting and entertaining. In Japan, there is a celebrity known as Kuroyanagi Tetsuko. Practically the queen of "hayakuchi", this elderly lady talks a mile a minute, but people listen. https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E9%BB%92%E6%9F%B3%E5%BE%B9%E5%AD%90 https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E9%BB%92%E6%9F%B3%E5%BE%B9%E5...
