What I really wonder is, once virtually everyone has crossed the rubicon to reuse the article's expression, how long it will take for whoever decides NOT to be tracked to look guilty? How long before people without phones, doorbells or smart watches get frowned upon? At the rate we're accelerating, it wouldn't be crazy to see it happen in a couple years.
