- theshrike79 5y ago* VSCode doesn't spy on me (metrics can be disabled) * Codespaces don't spy on me (much) * Typescript doesn't spy on me * NPM doesn't spy on me * Github doesn't spy on me * Azure doesn't spy on me Google does. It's literally their main revenue stream.
- arnvald 5y agoBoth are problems - Microsoft monopolizes development experience, Google monopolizes other areas like private info (they know what you search for, what videos you watch, what restaurants you go to, probably even where you fly)
