To be fair VS Code is one of the best Electron apps and its feature and support by vendors makes up for it. Heck you can use it in a browser (CodeSpaces) or connect to a remote instance via local app. VS Code does laps around the "native" Nova editor. Speed-wise it's not the best, but it's till reasonable.
