College lecturer charged with starting blaze near Dixie Fire
- mikestew 5y agoAuthorities launched an investigation of Maynard on July 20, and when he was stopped by police in Susanville on Aug. 3, a U.S. Forest Service agent placed a tracking device under his car, the Bee said. Soooo many details left unspoken. Why was he stopped, and moreso, what prompted the cop to put a tracking device on the car? Is there some flag that pops up when the license is run that says, "put a tracker on there"? That would require a warrant, I take it? Why was Maynard a suspect to begin with? I'm sure it will all come out later, but that one paragraph set off a bunch of questions in my mind.

All of these allegations are yet to be proven in a court of law, of course, but, if true, would explain why the tracking device was placed.
