I have a theory that Uber's making a killing, but making sure that they don't look profitable on paper so that they don't have to pay taxes. I haven't done any research and I don't really care, it's just fun to consider.

The CEO and other execs are definitely making a killing out of it. That's all that matters. If the ship sinks they'll gladly jump out of it and move on to the next thing.
