Kill Sticky Headers
- perilunar 5y agoThis is useful. If you change the line: elements[i].parentNode.removeChild(elements[i]); to: elements[i].style.position='absolute'; it will unstick the header without deleting it.
- ElijahLynn 5y agoToday I Learned (TIL) that some people hate sticky headers because they take up precious space on smaller screens (Author's Macbook Air) and can be distracting.
- aitchnyu 5y agoTIL bookmarks still allow to execute JS like its still the early aughts.
- readonthegoapp 5y agogood cause. i need one that kills 'jumpy' pages due to 'wacky header metamorphosis while scrolling' pages.
- chadlavi 5y agoI too love to break websites so they are impossible for me to use
- perilunar 5y agoI love the fact that I can use bookmarklets (and web inspector) to fix broken websites so they are useable.
- chadlavi 5y agoI suppose as a bookmarklet it's not so bad, but it would be pretty dumb for someone to write this as a Greasemonkey script or something. The selector is also impossibly wide. There are a lot of fixed position elements on a website. Many of them are not sticky headers.
