My first reaction is: what a load of FUD.
Industry produces over 30GT of carbon dioxide per year [1] and we’re supposed to believe that the market for CO2 is a “sellers market”. It would have been nice if the article quantified that claim, instead of leading the reader to believe that any amount of government action on climate change will cause unintended consequences that will lead to chaos.

- mattmaroon 5y agoOh it’s definitely a sellers market. Ask anyone who runs draft systems or a brewery, prices have already increased quite a bit.

- scrollaway 5y agoYeah it does look, walk and quack a bit like propaganda. If CO2 demand were high enough we wouldn’t be in this mess, because there would have been an incentive to sequester it in the first place. It’s possible some co2 users are affected by badly thought out policies but they will also be affected by a parallel increase in supply as less of the co2 production is released into the air and incentives to do something with it are added so any such situation is very temporary.
