In order to install Windows 11, you have to edit your BIOS Settings for TPM 2.0
- londons_explore 5y agoMy understanding is a tpm should be fully possible for firmware to virtualize... You obviously won't have the tamper resistance guarantees anymore, but windows should run and work fine with it. Has anyone built this?
- PostThisTooFast 5y agoWhatever, Microsoft. Windows is now an absolute shitshow, so go ahead and make it an even bigger pain in the ass. No doubt this is an effort to dupe people into signing up for their "Windows in a browser" bullshit.
- type0 5y ago> The extra steps are bound to confuse consumers, especially those who know little about computers, and have never entered their PC’s BIOS settings before. This is unapproachable hindrance for the most normal users who will be forced to buy new computer despite having a perfectly capable PCs already. Most of them will never even know that their machine is supported.
- k12sosse 5y agoIf you have a blank/empty TPM header on your mobo, you can just buy any brand of TPM module that is the compliant version and be compliant, right? You don't need to buy the ASRock module for an ASRock board, correct?
