I still have one of these! I wonder why in 1991 they chose to use a super heavy first generation portable? Durability? Reliability? Ports and interfaces? Trackball worked in space?

The Portable only came out in 1989 and it probably took 18 months to certify it.

  Good point! Off the top of my head Id have put it at a couple of years earlier than ‘89! You think I’d know as I own one
