  Because Sackler’s opioids would not be damaging without the current drug laws, but the drug laws would still be damaging without the opioids. It doesn’t make sense to blame both. It’s focusing on the wrong things, there’s nothing to be gained by blaming the Sacklers but there sure is a plenty to gain by rewriting drug laws.
