I joked with my wife that I was being a parent in Minecraft. Which is sort of true... I kept building shelters, providing food, and other supplies. Now I try to strike a balance in being helpful as I'd expect a friend to be and letting him do some of the work. Regardless it still did wonders for getting our normally quiet kid to talk. Granted the signal to noise is about 15 minutes of Minecraft talk and 5 minutes of actual what happened in the day.
