Wow. I'm not sure if he has been selectively quoted or not but he certainly did say those exact words so (smh). Weeds grow fastest in the shade of others. Igno

Weeds grow fastest in the shade of others. Ignoring the three major shipping choke-points (and not even mentioning the upper Arctic slowly becoming open to maritime traffic) is.. Welp.
I sincerely hope he was misquoted or 'mis-spoke' when he used the word 'exclusively'.
Personal opinion obviously
- ergag 5y agoI don't think the American public understands how focused most of the DoD is on China right now - not just the Navy. https://www.scmp.com/news/china/military/article/3103464/does-us-military-uniform-suggest-it-preparing-war-china https://www.scmp.com/news/china/military/article/3103464/doe... The South Pacific is a ticking time bomb and I give us 4-6 years before there is a hot war there. It isn't too late but I feel it is quickly growing inevitable.

It seems pretty clear that America is chomping at the bit to start some kind of conflict down there. Since the entire US military industrial complex is based upon there always having to be an enemy somewhere, it does indeed seem inevitable. Methinks they might find China a bit more of a pushover than the likes of Iraq and Afghanistan though. Still, it'll be a novel experience for the US to take on someone who can actually fight back, for a change.
- yann2 5y agoWhy is it novel? War with the soviets/russians was avoided. Its was always going to be lose lose. Same with China.
- hollerith 5y ago>The South Pacific is a ticking time bomb You mean "South China Sea"
- Pick-A-Hill2019 5y ago{chuckles} to coin an internet meme - I see what you did there
- hollerith 5y agoI don't know what you mean. China is far from the South Pacific.
