While there is certainly truth to this, this is also a defeatist position. Of course Apple could do anything, with or without telling us. And they do some fairly indefensible things, though I would argue those have mostly to do with the App Store. But this is not the time to throw our hands up and say there was nothing we could do all along. That the situation was never ideal does not preclude there being something worth fighting for.
