Aren't we as consumers in the West still addicted to cheap goods that this idealistic/extremist idea (immigration bans?!) will sadly not fly with the average consumer? And Tim Apple, etc, will just lobby the government to not implement your tariffs so those "2 years and they're junk" Airpods don't get more expensive...
